On Pools and Open Records Request
As I've been very busy with several projects, here is a quick catch up:
1. I couldn't be happier that the council reversed its earlier decision and restored hours at city pools. Back in October when we were discussing the budget, I could not find a "second" to bring this issue to a vote. Last Monday the only discussion seemed to be about the new hours and which pools were going to be open for 1 or 2 hours extra. It's amazing what a stream of citizens coming to speak to the council can do. Thank you to everyone who came, called and wrote emails. Everyone of you really helped to make a difference for our community. Thank you.

2. Open Records Request filed against me earlier was withdrawn. Thanks to everyone who contacted me to express your support throughout this ordeal. Thanks also to those anonymous callers who contacted the Sound Off to speak up on my behalf. I'm not a big fan of anonymous phone calls but it was great to see something positive in there for a change.

Hey Yuri I am curious about these questions that run down the side of this page. What do you do with the results? Is this the only place they are posted or can they be found somewhere else? Seems like the sample is so small that any conclusions drawn from them would not really be called a mandate. greg tessier at gjtessier@gmail.com.
ReplyDeleteGreg, I take results of these polls under advisement. This is the only place where these polls are posted and I'm not looking for a mandate, rather it is a continuous search for new ways to communicate. Having taken several classes on statistics as part of my Master's degree, I know that what these polls are telling me is the attitude of some of the people who visit this website. And I take it as such. Thank you for your input as well. Did you vote? ;)
