It was brought to my attention that there was a certain lack of clarity as to who will be able to apply for a Class B FMB license at the ice arena. Having checked with Wald Klimczyk, the city attorney, the following has become clear:
The license can only be applied for by the lessee of the building, which is the Wisconsin Hockey Partners. However, any qulifying organization will still be able to apply for a temporary permit to sell alcoholic beverages at the ice arena, or for that matter, at any city property. Example of this would be the 4th of July celebration.
Thus, if Youth Hockey was interested in doing a fundraiser at the ice arena, for instance, they could apply for a beer license for that time period. An important restriction is that the time period in question can not create a conflict with the lessee/Wisconsin Hockey Partners.
